What Doesn’t Workers’ Compensation Cover?
Workers’ comp reduces a company’s liability exposure while offering employees much-needed financial relief if they are temporarily unable to return to work. There are some common exclusions to coverage, however, including if the injured employee:
- Was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Was in violation of company protocol at the time of the incident.
- Was engaged in illegal activity.
- Was off the clock.
- Inflicted the injury intentionally upon themselves.
